Academisation at Uplands JS and Rushey Mead
The Interim Executive Board at Uplands Junior School was replaced by the DfE on 29th May. This board, under the instruction of the DfE, is determined to push through academisation. With UNISON colleagues, the NUT has leafleted parents and organised a parents' meeting on 16th June. The City Council is considering a judicial review to challenge the DfE's decision.
Despite rumours to the contrary, Rushey Mead Secondary School is still a Local Authority maintained school. The Local Authority will still not sign the academy funding agreement, because financial issues relating to BSF have still not been resolved.
