H&S Reps Training
Leicester and Leicestershire NUT will jointly be providing training for H&S Representatives on Wednesday 8th October. This will take place at the Leicester NUT office, Pilot House, King Street, Leicester, and will run from 9.30am to approximately 12.30pm. Coffee and biscuits will be available from 9am and a light lunch after the meeting for those who indicate in advance that they would like this.
The issues covered will be:
• Carrying out a school H&S inspection
• Stress in schools (including stress surveys)
• Asbestos
The course will be lead by Pauline Browne (Midlands NUT Regional Officer), Greg Jones (Leicestershire NUT H&S Adviser and member of the national NUT H&S working group) and Andy Haynes (City of Leicester NUT H&S Adviser). We hope that a representative of Leicester City Council Children's Services H&S team will also be present to give their views on the issues raised.
All officially elected or appointed NUT H&S representatives are legally entitled to receive training in their roles and we hope that you will take up this opportunity. If you wish to attend, or have any questions concerning the training, please contact me by email in the first instance - andyleicesternut.org.uk.
School NUT Reps from schools that do not have a H&S rep are also welcome to apply, but it would be helpful if they were appointed to act as H&S rep by their school NUT group first.
Allocation of places will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
