Trades Council

5th February 2014

The May Day Bank Holiday is a celebration of International Workers' Day. This year the event falls on Monday 5th May. It is several years since there was a May Day Event in Leicester and Leicester and District Trades Union Council plan to hold an event in Leicester on Monday May 5th, and intends building on this event in years to come. It is especially important that working people have a voice in this era of austerity, under a Government of the rich for the rich. Details of events in Leicester will be published nearer the time.

Leicester and District Trades Council meets regularly with representatives from the TUC affiliated trade unions, including the NUT, in Leicester. Leicester NUT is entitled to seven delegates and currently has vacancies. If you would be interested in representing Leicester NUT at Trades Council, please contact the NUT Office and I can give you more information about what it entails.
