Uplands Junior School

4th September 2013

The Local Authority has now issued governors at Uplands Junior School with a warning notice as the first step in removing their delegated powers. Ofsted has upheld the position of the LA and rejected an appeal against the notice by the governors. The bizarre behaviour of the governors and headteacher has continued over the summer holiday and against the advice of the Local Authority, who, let's remember, are the employers, and they have suspended four members of staff and started disciplinary procedures against six. The head is not one of those that they have chosen to suspend. They have gone ahead with the sacking of teaching assistants, despite assurances that the process would be put on hold. GMB and UNISON members will be taking further strike action on Wednesday 4th September unless the redundancies are withdrawn.
