Uplands Junior School Strike
NUT members at Uplands Junior School took strike action just before half term in protest at the behaviour of the headteacher and governing body.
All the teachers and support staff have submitted a vote of no confidence in both the headteacher and governing body of the school. A proposed new staffing structure will result in the loss of several teaching assistant posts. Further action is planned for later this term, and it is hoped that NUT members will be joined by teachers from other unions and support staff.
Teachers on the picket line received support from parents, concerned about the proposals.
