Leicester NUT Young Teachers & NQTs Social Event

NEU Members from both the city and county came together at this year’s Young Teachers and NQT welcome social. The event held at the Chef and Spice restaurant provided a relaxed environment for teachers to meet one another and some of the local union committee members. With many NQTs in attendance, it was important that they found out the role the local unions plays in education across our many schools in Leicestershire.

Assistant Secretary, Jenny day, and Secretary, Joseph Wyglendacz with Minaz at the welcome event.

We had a good turnout of over twenty teachers in attendance, although quite a few could not make it due to what has become known as ‘first half term exhaustion’, something which many teachers can relate to no doubt! Nonetheless is was a fantastic turnout and an enjoyable evening for all. Please watch this space for details of further social events for all members being held this year.

If you would like to stay informed about local, regional and national activities for young teachers, please pass your email address on to Minaz. He will be able to give you details of social events, union training and CPD events aimed specifically at young teachers.
